A Clean Home
I travel internationally a few times a year. As much as I love travelling, after a holiday, getting back into the routine can be difficult, especially for people who suffer from jet-lag as bad as I do. Over the years something I learnt is that thoroughly cleaning your home before you head off makes the return to reality a little easier. Returning to a clean home is the greatest feeling after a long (often) sleepless flight.
I’m off to San Francisco next week and for the first time, I decided to hire the services of a professional to assist me with my holiday pre-departure house clean. I used HomeHello to make a booking, online. Founded in 2014, HomeHello proposes a simple and affordable way of connecting Australians with passionate service providers in Sydney and Melbourne, for a seamless professional cleaning experience.
When making a booking with HomeHello, a recommended time is suggested based on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in your home, as well as any additional cleaning services you may have selected, such as windows or fridge cleaning. You have the option to provide your own cleaning products or alternatively you can opt for an all inclusive fee (additional $5). Prices for the services start at $25 per hour. The booking site also allows recurring orders / subscription, for people who want to opt for weekly, fortnight or monthly cleaning services. I picked the one-off option. I also liked that I was able to leave specific instructions (i.e I’ll leave the key under the door mat, do not clean the desk etc.).
My cleaner (male, in his 30’s) arrived on time, and was well aware of the instructions I had left online. He confirmed with me where I wanted him to focus his time and efforts before getting started. He wore a HomeHello t-shirt and was well equipped. My house was sparkling when he left and I did think it was money well spent.
Living in a clean home is very important to me, especially since I spent so much time, efforts and money in renovating it. Tidiness is essential to make the space feel bigger. It’s only the two of us in there (and the cat!), so I guess it helps in keeping things in order. Don’t get me wrong, like everybody else I do have some clutter, but it’s mostly hidden under the bed, in the guest rooms and in the garage!
